Josh Damigo & Rob Deez
August 3, 2019 Josh Damigo has been here before. In June of 2014 (yes that long ago, but wonderfully remembered) Josh shared with us his talents and tales. Being a top San Diego artist and performer, he has played with some of the best in town, and across the nation. Rob Deez is one of those exceptional peoples. Having his own style and flavor, Rob has entertained locals and people afar for many years. Together, Josh and Rob have created a unique friendship and music style that has crowds laughing and crying. You should know that Rob has a foul mouth (he doesn’t like offending parents, so sometimes that’s a good disclaimer). Josh Damigo is a bad Christian and Rob Deez is a good heathen. Robbie and Christie have listened to Josh and Rob separately everytime we go to Adams Avenue Unplugged. Exciting to have them both perform here together for what will be a great 'music' event. Bear Market Riot
September 7, 2019 Bear Market Riot is the “Power-Folk” duo of Kirk Nordby and Nick Motil. Formed in 2014 on the Central Coast of California, their energetic blend of sounds from folk to funk resonates with audiences of all ages. They are two heartfelt voices singing in harmony playing five instruments with their hands and feet, telling tales of adventure, equality, and romance. With a driving beat and layers of melody, Motil and Nordby create a sound greater than the sum of its parts. Bear Market Riot won SLO New Times readers poll pick for “Best Band” the last two years in a row! In 2017 they were runner-up in the High Sierra Music Festival Band Competition. As the emcees of Whale Rock Music Festival and frequent radio guests, they’ve earned a reputation as energetic hype-men. They’ve opened for the Brother’s Comatose, Fruition, The Lil’ Smokies, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Lukas Nelson, and Nicki Bluhm, among others. Their first full-length album “Power-Folk Americana” is set for release with Spectra Records in 2019. The duo’s upbeat songs and catchy lyrics are complemented by Motil’s toe-tapping beats and Nordby’s sizzling harmonica leads. Self-produced through a successful Kickstarter campaign, the album tells spirited stories of relationships and our place in the social fabric. Christie and Robbie met Kirk and Nick at Live Oak Music Festival in 2016. And enjoyed them as they MC'd Whale Rock Music Festival (Beaverstock) at Castoro Cellars last summer. Our Story...

Robbie and Christie love going to music festivals. After seeing Corinne West at the Live Oak Music festival we became fans. We found Corinne at a house concert in Atascadero and traveled north to see her. Nothing beats sitting in someone's living room, ten feet away
from an artist as they sing directly to you. After the show we asked her if she would consider doing a house concert in the Big Bear Valley and she said YES. At the time we lived in a 875 square foot house, so of course we had to build a bigger house in order to have our treasured house concerts.
This started our adventure of designing and building a new home in Baldwin Lake,
California, which we have named Piñon Hill because of our hilltop home surrounded by Piñon (pinyon) trees. Our new home is powered by 20 solar panels and a 1K wind turbine, which means "green" music.
Concert Details
Our events are ZERO WASTE. No trash - pack it in, pack it out, everything recycled or composted. Guests are asked to bring their own glass for wine / beer.
Our house concert donation is $20 per person. All donations go directly to the artist(s). We are NOT a public venue and
attendance is by invitation only. We have a mailing list of friends, family, and local music lovers.
Contact us at Christie's email below to be added to our private mailing list. The address to the concert is provided to registered guests only.
